Southbound Pattern Release

One of the best parts of this journey has been getting to know other quilters, makers, and designers. I first met Justine of Great Heron Thread Co. when she volunteered to pattern test for me. Since then, we’ve collaborated on several projects including these absolutely lovely (thanks to her) hand quilting kits, and our latest project has been a joint pattern release! Not only does Justine have a great eye for design, she’s an all around person who has quickly become one of my best friends.

The Southbound quilt was 100% designed by Justine. She sent me a rendering of it and I was hooked! I immediately wanted to try an ombre version, and we jumped right into pattern writing and quilt creation. I made this ombre version using Art Gallery’s Pure Solids (which are a dream, I highly recommend them!), and Justine made a two color sample using the Kona color of the year, Enchanted. Not to be cheesy, but… it’s pretty enchanting :P
