Phoenix Quilt Pattern Release
I’m so excited to finally release the Phoenix pattern in my shop! The Phoenix pattern was originally featured in Make Modern Magazine, which was such an honor. This pattern was designed quite some time ago, and when I first looked at the finished rendering I thought “Ah, I’ve discovered my personal style!” Once the sample was made, I was hooked - this is definitely one of my favorites.
The “flare” blocks are what make this pattern really unique - and are a bit tricky looking! However, as long as you understand your scant 1/4” seam allowance (easy to do with some help from my friend Fran), these blocks will be a cinch. The secret? Extra space for trimming, because no one (ok, maybe it’s just me) has time for ultra precision!
This sample quilt was made using Kona Spruce… one of my all time favorite colors! It was quilted by the super talented Amanda from Prairie Folk Quilt Co. If you are loving this particular sample, you can find a few kits for this quilt here.
Now for some tester photos! I loved seeing all the awesome color combinations for this quilt.
Check out this queen sized beauty!
And a white background, because of course we need an example of that.
I had always intended to create a red sample of this pattern (because, Phoenix, duh), but time just got away from. I was so happy a tester chose to do so!
I really need to jump on the purple train, because I’m loving all the purple quilts I’ve been seeing lately.
These soft colors seem just perfect for a large baby quilt!
Another queen size, and another set of glorious colors full of dimension.
Another fiery red example!
These dark backgrounds mixed with the pale pink are so fantastic… don’t you think?
Everything Katherine touches turns to gold, so I shouldn’t be surprised I’m so in love with her sample quilt… isn’t it gorgeous?
