Boxwood Quilt Pattern Release

The first pattern of 2022 is here! The Boxwood pattern was inspired by the structure and form of Renaissance gardens, and took a year and a half to evolve from the initial design to the finalized pattern! I wanted to make sure that the piecing felt simple rather than complex, but still captured the intricacies of the original design.

The “flare” blocks are what make this pattern really unique - and are a bit tricky looking! However, as long as you understand your scant 1/4” seam allowance (easy to do with some help from my friend Fran), these blocks will be a cinch. The secret? Extra space for trimming, because no one (ok, maybe it’s just me) has time for ultra precision!

This sample quilt can be made with either Art Gallery Pure Solids or Kona Cotton, in the following colors:

Color A: AGF Pacific or Kona Seafoam

Color B: AGF Patina Green or Kona Old Green

Color C: AGF Evergreen or Kona Spruce

Color D: AGF Snow or Kona White

(PS - if you are a fellow lover of formal gardens, you might also love Monty Don’s Italian Gardens special! It can be hard to find, but well worth it when you do. As of right now, I’ve only found it on Youtube.)

Now for some tester photos!
